Kelly Science is seeking a Scientist to work at a leading organization in Cambridge, MA. This role is eligible for benefits: health insurance, 401K. paid holidays, and PTO

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $35-$43 per hour depending on experience

Shift: 1st shift on site

Length of assignment :One year with likely extension

Must be able to provide your own laptop

What's a typical day as Scientist? You'll be:

• Performing assay and workflow development experiments for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows.
• Preparing and running NGS samples on both the Illumina NextSeq and PacBio platforms.
• Independently designing, analyzing, and interpreting experimental results and technical reports.
• Participating in technology development efforts to drive long-term therapeutics discovery and validate technologies for portfolio readiness.
• Maintaining detailed and accurate records in LIMS, ELN, and ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Cloning, transforming, and preparing plasmids as part of ongoing molecular biology workflows.
• Culturing yeast, picking colonies, and expressing proteins in yeast display systems.
• Preparing yeast cultures for FACS sorting and extracting DNA from selected populations.
• Registering DNA and protein sequences into the portal system for project banking.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have a B.S. in molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, immunology, or a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Possess hands‑on experience preparing and running samples on short‑read or long‑read NGS platforms.
• Demonstrate proficiency in NGS library prep (short‑read and/or long‑read) and are familiar with NGS QC metrics and analysis tools.
• Have hands‑on experience in molecular biology techniques, including recombinant DNA cloning, sequence analysis, plasmid amplification, PCR, and gel purification.
• Are skilled in yeast cell culturing, colony picking, and working with yeast display systems.
• Understand antibody structure and function.
• Can communicate effectively and work collaboratively across diverse scientific teams.
• Preferably have at least 1 year of industry experience and display‑based experience (yeast, mammalian, or phage display).
• Have experience operating Illumina NextSeq and/or PacBio sequencing instruments (preferred but not required).
• Are detail‑oriented and experienced in maintaining accurate scientific records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
