Join the power movement as a Scientific Software Engineer
The Scientific Software team at CFS develops software that helps us understand superconducting magnets and tokamaks. The primary project for this role will be development of internal simulation tools for superconducting magnets. HTS magnets are a key component to CFS’s path to commercial fusion. We seek an experienced software engineer (Senior to Principal level) to help develop computational tools to aid the design, construction, and test of HTS magnets. This includes tools to predict the physical behavior of magnet components (using finite difference, finite element, boundary element methods, etc.), optimize magnet design, perform data analysis and post-processing, visualize data, etc. The software engineer will work directly with software users across interdisciplinary and diverse teams involved in magnet development (electromagnetics, engineering, materials, etc.).
