Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Scientific Director to guide the Medical Affairs team in neuroscience, shaping brand strategy, generating clinical data, and driving medical education and advisory programs. The role collaborates with commercial, clinical, and regulatory functions to support launches and market access.

The ideal candidate has a PhD/PharmD/PA/NP or equivalent, 5–7+ years in pharma, and strong communication skills. A hybrid role based in the United States with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in the sciences required; advanced degree preferred (PhD, PharmD, PA or NP).
• 5-7+ years in pharma or equivalent; strong therapeutic understanding.
• Knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements; protocol design experience helpful.
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to development of brand strategies.
• Lead and support Medical Affairs initiatives for asset launch.
• Develop and execute Medical Education/Advisory Board plans and conference activities.
• Lead internal training development and dissemination of MI content.
• Manage budgets for assigned projects and coordinate cross-functional efforts.
• Ensure timely medical reviews of promotional materials per guidelines.
