Job summary

AbbVie in Lake County, IL is seeking a Scientific Director to provide medical and scientific input into strategic and operational Medical Affairs activities for the Neuroscience portfolio, including interactions with payers, patients, prescribers and providers.

You will collaborate with commercial teams on brand strategies, support launches, develop education plans, manage budgets, and generate clinical data while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the sciences is required.
• 5-7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent.
• Knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements governing trials preferred.
• Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders to support global business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the development of brand strategies.
• Lead and support Medical Affairs initiatives for Parkinson’s Disease asset launch.
• Develop and execute Medical Education/Advisory Board & EE Engagement Plan; lead global conference planning.
• Lead internal training activities.
• Generate clinical and scientific data per evidence gap assessment.
• Manage budgets for assigned projects.
• Coordinate scientific activities with internal stakeholders (commercial, operations, discovery, statistics, regulatory).
• Provide medical information reviews of promotional materials in line with policies.
