Job summary

Certara is seeking a Scientific Content Specialist, Customer Education to develop and govern scientifically accurate training curricula, product documentation, and educational content for Certara software platforms, including Phoenix. The role interprets complex modeling, PK/PD concepts and communicates them clearly to audiences with varied scientific backgrounds.

This position owns assigned deliverables from needs assessment through validation, collaborates with SMEs and cross-functional teams,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline involving specialized intellectual instruction.
• Experience applying advanced scientific knowledge to scientific writing, training, software documentation, modeling and simulation, pharmacometrics, PK/PD, or related work.
• Ability to analyze and explain complex scientific concepts, evaluate technical accuracy, and form well-supported conclusions.
• Experience owning substantive scientific or technical content deliverables through planning, development, review, revision, and release.
• Design structured, audience-appropriate learning or documentation experiences and select instructional approaches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with SMEs and stakeholders.
• Strong project leadership, prioritization, and ability to manage dependencies.
• Proficiency with contemporary content-development tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the scientific and instructional quality of customer education curricula, learning assets, documentation, and related content throughout the lifecycle.
• Interpret complex modeling, PK/PD principles, and pharmaceutical use cases; synthesize findings into accurate content.
• Assess learning objectives, content gaps, and risks; determine depth of treatment.
• Define content architecture, sequence, and delivery formats for learning programs and docs.
• Resolve unclear or conflicting information via research, SME input, and authoritative sources.
• Exercise independent judgment on scientific material vs. editorial matters and recommend revisions or escalation.
• Lead content initiatives from scoping to publication, managing deliverables and evolving information.
• Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional teams; own delivered work and judgments on content readiness.
• Set scientific content standards, terminology, templates, and quality controls to improve consistency and adoption.
• Review material for scientific accuracy and regulatory or reputational sensitivity; recommend action when needed.
• Develop and deliver live, virtual, or on-demand scientific software education as appropriate.
• Evaluate content effectiveness and recommend improvements based on feedback and product developments.
• Assess emerging authoring, AI, and automation tools for responsible use in content workflows.
