The American Heart Association seeks a Science and Medicine Advisor (SMA) in the National Center, Dallas, TX (home-based acceptable). The SMA directs clinical and research input from physicians and scientists to create statements, guidelines, and educational programs.

Qualifications

• RN, MD, NP, PA with a Graduate degree and clinical experience in cardiovascular care; doctoral degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of professional adult cardiology clinical experience; 8 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide science volunteers in creating scientific statements, guidelines, and educational programs.
• Provide consultation on science aspects to internal staff for programs, publications, and materials with health implications.
• Review content for professional websites and products for accuracy and consistency.
• Synthesize current state of science for lay professionals and internal staff and explain implications for the Association.
