Job summary

The American Heart Association offers an excellent opportunity for a Science and Medicine Advisor (SMA) in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX (Home-Based is acceptable). The SMA guides physicians, scientists and allied health volunteers who contribute to scientific statements, clinical guidelines, and educational programs.

The role requires strong writing and leadership, with travel up to ~25% and experience in cardiovascular care and research.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree required with clinical experience (RN/MD/NP/PA or equivalent).
• Superior writing and communication skills; publication history preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide and partner with science volunteers in creating scientific statements, advisories, guidelines, and related programs.
• Provide consultation and approval on science aspects to internal staff for public-facing materials and initiatives.
• Review content for Association websites and products.
• Synthesize current state of science for internal stakeholders and implications for the Association.
