Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Science and Medicine Advisor (SMA) to guide science volunteers and direct the creation of scientific statements, advisories, and education programs. This remote-friendly role is based at the National Center with options for home-based work in the United States.

You will work with clinicians, researchers, and staff to translate complex cardiovascular science into actionable resources, policy input, and program content, ensuring high-quality outputs for

Qualifications

• Must have graduate-level clinical credential (RN/MD/NP/PA) with cardiovascular care experience.
• Excellent writing and communication skills with publication history is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects with time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Guide science volunteers in creating scientific statements, guidelines, and educational programs.
• Provide consultation on science aspects to internal staff for public-facing materials and websites.
• Review content for professional websites and products to ensure scientific accuracy.
• Synthesize current science for lay professionals and internal staff and explain implications.
