Job summary

StudentNest Group seeks tutors to empower students with targeted academic support in Casselberry, FL. The role is in-person, 5 days a week during the school day, starting Oct 12, 2026, with a 6‑hour day and a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break.

You will lead small‑group tutoring for 6th‑grade Math or 8th‑grade Science, support students with IEPs, and help maintain a positive classroom environment. Florida credential or SoE required; fingerprint and TB clearance needed.

Qualifications

• Florida teaching credential OR a bachelor’s degree with a Statement of Eligibility issued by the Florida Department of Education.
• Experience teaching or supporting reading instruction.
• Direct experience supporting Special Education students.
• Familiarity with the Science of Reading (or willingness to be trained).

Responsibilities

• Provide Targeted Academic Support: Serve as a Teacher’s Aide for 6th‑grade Math (including Pre‑Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry) or 8th‑grade Science (Environmental and Comprehensive Science).
• Lead Small-Group Tutoring: Facilitate engaging small‑group sessions using designated curriculum materials and educational technology.
• Support Special Education Students: Assist students with IEPs, adapting instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Manage Classroom Dynamics: Maintain a positive, focused, and safe environment conducive to student learning and growth.

Location:

• Casselberry, FL 32707 (Seminole County Public Schools)

Schedule:

• Starts October 12, 2026
• In-person, Monday-Friday

Hours:

• Part-time
• 5 days per week
• 6 hours per day with 30 minute unpaid lunch break, during the school day
• Shortened schedule on Wednesdays

Pay:

• $29-30 per hour based on experience

• Manage Classroom Dynamics: Maintain a positive, focused, and safe environment conducive to student learning and growth.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Please apply only if you meet the following criteria:

• Certification / Degree: Hold a Florida teaching credential OR a bachelor's degree with a Statement of Eligibility issued by the Florida Department of Education.
• Experience:
  • Classroom experience teaching or supporting reading instruction.
  • Direct experience supporting Special Education students.
  • Experience using the Science of Reading (or a strong willingness to be trained).
• Clearance & Onboarding:
  • Ability to meet DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance requirements and complete fingerprinting within 48 hours of an offer.
  • Ability to provide a negative tuberculosis (TB) test within 2 weeks of hire.
  • Ability to provide 3 professional references.
• General: Detail-oriented, highly dependable, effective communicator, with reliable transportation and a true passion for learning, teaching, and empowering students.
