Job summary

StudentNest Group in Sanford, FL is seeking part-time tutors to support 6th–8th grade students in Science or Math. In-person, 3 days per week, 6 hours per day during the school day, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Tutors will use the provided curriculum and learning technology, manage classroom dynamics, and support students with IEPs. Florida teaching credential or SOE required.

Qualifications

• Experience with struggling students is preferred.
• Fingerprinting clearance within 48 hours of offer.

Responsibilities

• Tutor 6th-8th grade students in Science (General/Environmental) or Math (Pre-Algebra–Geometry).
• Provide small group tutoring using the given curriculum and technology.
• Manage classroom dynamics and adapt to diverse learning needs.
• Support students with IEPs as required.

Location:

• Sanford, FL 32771 (Seminole County Public Schools)
• Millennium Middle School

Schedule:

• Starts in September
• In-person, Tues, Weds & Thurs

Hours:

• Part-time
• 3x per week
• 6 hours per day with 30 minute unpaid lunch break, during the school day

Pay:

• $30 per hour

In this role, you will:

• Work as a Tutor, supporting 6-8th grade students in Middle School Science (General Science and Environmental Science) or Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry).
• Support students in Special Education with IEP's.
• Provide small group tutoring sessions to students using the provided curriculum and learning technology.
• Manage classroom dynamics to ensure a conducive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

• A teaching credential issued by the state of Florida or A bachelor's degree accompanied by a Statement of Eligibility issued by the Florida Department of Education (ESE Certificate)
  • Credential must be in Science, Math, or Multi Subject. Non-Science or Math credentialedteachers will be considered if you have experience teaching Math or Science and have a strong knowledge and familiarity with Math or Science.
• Experienceworking with struggling students and at-promise populations is preferred
• Have classroom experience teaching or supporting reading instruction
• Can complete the fingerprinting process within 48 hours of an offer
• In this role you will need to be able to meet DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance requirements for this position
