Job summary

Lone Star College-CyFair is seeking a Coordinator I, Science Lab to oversee general functions in the science lab, coordinating materials, events, and resources to support teaching and student learning.

The ideal candidate has at least an associate degree and one year of related experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced college environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher and at least 1 year of experience.
• Knowledge of EPA/OSHA safety regulations.
• Ability to follow protocols and maintain documentation.
• Experience with lab waste handling and chemical inventory.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates lab schedules and materials with faculty and staff.
• Improves lab procedures and practices.
• Manages chemical and bio-hazardous waste records.
• Maintains safety culture and current with regulations.
• Prepares and inventories reagents, solutions, stains, media.
• Monitors and disposes of microbiological cultures and wastes.
• Operates and maintains lab equipment.
• Maintains SDS workstations and PPE usage.
• Provides routine lab support and supplies replenishment.
• Tracks budget expenditures.
• Maintains relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Handles other duties as assigned.
