Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or five years of equivalent work experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience applying complex scientific and engineering principles to provide technical services and support.
• Experience with data analysis, experimental processes, and development of prototypes, equipment, or systems.
• Ability to write clear documentation and perform administrative duties related to research studies or engineering projects.
• Experience overseeing a laboratory space or unit and supervising technicians and other staff.
• Ability to communicate with staff, students, faculty, and outside vendors.
• Ability to supervise and train a diverse work staff.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical research using experimental equipment, designs, plans, and data analysis.
• Liaise between researchers, students, technical staff, scientists, vendors, and university staff, providing guidance.
• Support programs related to area of specialization; monitor experiments and develop prototypes or systems.
• Manage, repair, and troubleshoot complex equipment and systems.
• Prepare drawings, material lists, requisitions, and engineering change requests.
