Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs (VANTHCS) SCI Center seeks an experienced internal medicine physician to provide consultative and primary care to Veterans with SCI/D in inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes education debt reduction program eligibility, and participation in the SCI interdisciplinary team.

The position features a Monday–Friday schedule (08:00–16:30) with on-call duties rotated with the SCI physicians, a robust benefits package, and

Qualifications

• Spoken and written English proficiency required.
• MD or DO degree from a school approved by VA.
• Residency training in an accredited core specialty.
• Full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative and primary care services to the SCI Service on inpatient and outpatient basis.
• Provide outpatient primary care to SCI/D population and inpatient evaluations.
• Complete internal medicine consultations on new admissions and support SCI team with complex medical issues.
• Provide medical clearance for surgery and admit, diagnose, treat Veterans as needed.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers; contribute to best practices within the SCI Service.
• Participate in administrative and academic activities; comply with performance measures.
