Job summary

STA Family of Companies is seeking a part-time School Van Driver in Prospect, CT. You will drive a school van on established routes, ensure safety, perform daily vehicle inspections, and support student transport while following safety standards. Training is provided and CDL eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Minimum of 5 years verifiable driving history.
• Clean driving record within the last 24-36 months.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a CDL.
• Complete comprehensive training program.
• Pre-employment background checks.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school van or bus route and transport students to and from school and field trips.
• Assist with monitoring general and/or special education students for safety during transport.
• Attend and participate in safety meetings.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for safe operation.
• Clean and maintain assigned vehicles to ensure safety and professional appearance.
• Communicate with students, supervisors, terminal managers and operations staff regarding job requirements and progress.
• Coordinate field trips or charter runs when requested to transport students and other passengers.
