Job summary

All--star-Transportatio in Prospect, CT is seeking a school van driver to safely transport students along fixed routes. You will work with a local management team and receive training to ensure safe operation and care.

This part-time role runs Monday through Friday with 25–35 hours per week and a starting pay of $20.00 per hour. Candidates must be 21+, have at least 5 years of verifiable driving history, and be willing to obtain a CDL.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned vehicles for safety and professional appearance.
• Communicate with students, supervisors, and managers to relay information.
• Support field trips and charter runs as needed.

Come join our team! As a school van driver, you will have the support of a dedicated, local management team and the training needed to perform your job safely, and with care. Van drivers are responsible for the safe delivery of students to and from school along set routes, adherence to all vehicle safety standards, and daily vehicle inspections, among other duties.

Hours: (M-F) 25 - 35 hours

Responsibilities

• Drive a school van or bus route - picking up and dropping off student passengers (general and special education) at established stops on the route, to and from school and/or field trips
• Assists with monitoring general and/or special education students to ensure safety transport.
• Attend and participate in safety meetings.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Cleans and maintains assigned vehicles for safety, to maintain a professional appearance and sanitation of vehicle.
• Communicates with students, student supervisors, terminal managers and operations to provide and acquire information related to the job function.
• As requested or desired to take field trip, activity and charter runs to transport students and other passengers to and from their destinations.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older
• Must have a minimum of 5 years verifiable driving history
• Clean driving record within the last 24-36 months
• Ability and willingness to obtain a CDL
• Complete comprehensive training program
• Pre-employment background checks
