Job summary

Sunrise Transportation is seeking van drivers in Stratford, CT 06615. No experience required; we will train you to become a licensed Van Driver. Duties include transporting students safely, picking up and dropping off, and performing pre-trip checks.

You must pass a drug screen and background check, and training to use a wheelchair lift is available. We offer paid training, competitive hourly pay ($17-$18), a flexible schedule, health benefits, a 401K plan, and paid holidays.

Job DetailsJob Location: Stratford, CT 06615Relia Transportation, a Sunrise Transportation Company based in Stratford, CT is looking to add safe and friendly van bus drivers to help transport our Special Education students to and from school. No experience is needed for this position! We will train and teach you to become a licensed and certified Van Driver! We are not only looking for amazing Drivers who will help us in the mission to move our children forward but want someone who wants to move their career!

What we’ll trust you with:

• Driving a van or large-sized vehicle to transport students safely and in a courteous manner
• Picking up and dropping off students using a route sheet or GPS unit
• Performing pre-trip/maintenance according to the state’s general standards
• Completing DVIR manual daily and report any defects
• Other duties as needed to get the work done successfully

What matters most for this role:

• You have a strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area
• Possess a valid driver’s license for 3 continuous years and in good standing.
• Ability to train and pass a company road evaluation
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background
• Proficient at using or willing to learn how to operate a wheelchair lift or necessary equipment
• Have the willingness to work in a diverse organization with many high-pressure situations
• You are a quick learner and have professional written and oral communication skills
