Job summary

Williamsburg-James City County Schools Transportation is seeking a Routing Specialist in Williamsburg, VA to develop and maintain optimized bus routing solutions using routing software. You will generate schedules, stops, runs, and student rosters, ensuring efficient operation and safety.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Must possess Routing/Scheduling Certification.
Five to seven years of school bus routing experience.
Must possess a valid VA CDL prior to employment.
Must be 21+ with a Virginia DMV license and clean driving record.
Must be able to operate a computer and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain routing and scheduling databases.
Update routes, stops, runs, and schedules.
Review and optimize regular and special education routes for efficiency.
Provide routing lists and driver/manager information as required.
Use software to compare options under constraints (fleet, bell times, safety, budget).
Assist with parental inquiries about bus stops and times.
Maintain daily system and database integrity.
