Williamsburg-James City County Schools is seeking a Specialty Driver to operate a school division vehicle (non-school bus) and transport students and authorized personnel safely on specified routes to and from school. The role requires strong communication, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to handle various road and weather conditions.

The position is building-based and full-time, with hours aligned to early morning and some late shifts.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Possession of a valid Virginia Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• Experience in school transportation and with children preferred. Must be 21+ years old and provide 5-year driving history.

Responsabilidades

• Transports students to local and out-of-zone schools with safety and discipline maintenance.
• Operate non-bus school division vehicle and ensure route safety and reporting of changes or delays.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and report any malfunctions to the shop or coordinator.
