Job summary

Marple Newtown School District is seeking an experienced Transportation Director to oversee student transportation, fleet operations and vehicle maintenance for a safe, efficient system. You will supervise the department, plan routes, assign drivers, and coordinate with schools and central office.

The role requires CDL certification, routing software knowledge, and strong supervisory and computer skills. This on-site position reports to the Director of Human Resources in the Transportation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years of driving experience.
• Valid CDL Training Certification.
• Knowledge of Transfinder Plus or other routing software.
• Knowledge of PA Vehicle/Bus laws and federal drug/alcohol testing.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Strong computer skills: MS 365, Word, Excel and Adobe PDF.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Department administrative team to ensure safe, efficient transportation services.
• Supervise daily transportation to and from school and activities for all district students.
• Plan, develop and maintain school bus routes and stops using routing software.
• Assign drivers, aides and substitutes to routes; handle route changes as needed.
• Oversee maintenance and preventive maintenance, fueling and fleet availability.
• On-call 24/7 and manage hiring, staffing and evaluations.
