Job summary

Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Manager of Transportation and Grounds to plan, direct, and supervise transportation services and grounds maintenance. This role ensures safe, cost-effective student transport and well-kept outdoor facilities in a collaborative school environment.

The position leads staff, manages routes and budgets, ensures compliance with regulations, and supports facilities leadership in emergency preparedness and continuous improvement of services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation Management, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in transportation, facilities, grounds management, or school operations.
• Supervisory or management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all transportation operations including bus routes, field trips, and emergencies.
• Develop and maintain efficient bus routes and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Coordinate driver recruitment, training, certification, and evaluations.
• Monitor transportation safety programs and investigate incidents.
• Oversee maintenance schedules for buses and district vehicles.
• Plan, organize, and supervise grounds maintenance including fields and landscaping.
• Prepare and administer departmental budgets and policies.
• Ensure OSHA and environmental regulation compliance and safety culture.
