Job summary

Beacon Mobility in Chicago is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to manage scheduling, routing, and communications for our school transportation services. You will adjust staffing based on routes, pre-assign next four days, and support drivers and dispatchers with on-the-road issues.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred), 1–2 years in transportation or dispatch, and proficiency with Outlook, Teams, and ISI routing software.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 1-2 years in transportation, dispatch, or routing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Teams.
• Experience with routing software such as ISI is desirable.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to work independently.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Communication & Scheduling: Check and respond to emails and Teams messages promptly.
• Routing & Optimization: Make route changes in ISI based on STS updates and pre-assign routes for four days ahead.
• Coordination & Support: Answer and manage calls; provide support to drivers and dispatchers.
• Compliance & Reporting: Maintain records of route assignments and ensure CPS transportation policy compliance.
• Reporting: Prepare reports for management review.
