Job summary

Bismarck Public Schools is seeking a Technology Support Specialist to install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software across the district. You will support users face-to-face, by phone, and via remote options, ensuring reliable technology for instruction and learning.

Requirements include an associate degree in technology and two years of tech support experience, with substitution allowed for additional relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting hardware, software, and networks.
• Preparing and maintaining accurate records.

• Operating transportation equipment for transferring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assess Work Order Requests: Implement the Helpdesk and complete assigned tickets with courteous, timely resolutions.
• Maintain District Website content for user access and compliance with standards.
• Setup Software/Hardware Operations and prepare for professional development and district conferences.
• Collaborate with personnel to train staff and implement services efficiently.
• Deploy and Install Technology: install hardware, peripherals, network gear, and software per safety rules.
• Implement Standardized Computer Images to ensure availability of required items.
• Monitor and Test Solutions to ensure issues are fully resolved without unintended impacts.
• Prepare Documentation: write reports, manage inventory, and provide written references.
• Provide Training and Assistance to students and staff on websites, technology, and support tasks.
• Repair Technology: maintain district hardware and software in safe, functioning condition.
• Research New Products to stay current with district changes and future needs.
• Provide Frontline Support for district software, devices, and operating systems.
• Transport Items: move equipment to job sites and pick up for repair.
