Job summary

McAllen Independent School District is seeking a Part-Time Technology Support Technician for Seguin Elementary School in McAllen, TX. The role focuses on assisting students, teachers, and staff with technology devices, from setup to problem resolution, including on-site, district remote, and help-desk support.

The position requires a high school diploma, enrollment in CS-related studies (3 credits), and a minimum 2.5 GPA, with 19 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Enrolled with a minimum of 3 credit hours in Computer Science or related field, required.
• 2.5 GPA or higher, required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent professional customer service and behavior to students, parents, staff and stakeholders in the areas of technology solutions, use and issue resolution.
• Develop and train technology users on proper guidance on prompt support and the use of technology devices and district applications.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking and wireless issues with quality and speed.
• Provide district hardware, software, application and support solutions, awareness, training for all district technology.
• Collaborate with all district campuses and departments to implement solutions; communicate effectively through all technological media.
• Understand all district software and hardware technology including but not limited to computers, tablets, mobile devices, and other hardware such as monitors, printers, scanners, casting devices, projectors, interactive boards, document cameras and any other district technology device.
• Plan with all Technology levels to execute plans of action for effective and efficient support on all configuration and deployment of technology devices, moves, and disposals.
• Prepare and continuously update technology equipment inventory.
• Work with Department of Technology to facilitate installation or updating of technology devices and specialized software.
• Contribute to creating a cooperative, collaborative, high-performing, and solutions-oriented department.
• Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator) in accordance with funding source guidelines.
