Job summary

Amber Charter Schools seeks a Technology Associate to be the first contact for technology help desk and to manage installations and repairs across three NY locations. You will support staff, families, and students with hardware, software, and network needs, coordinating with school operations for a smooth technology plan execution.

The role requires 1 year of tech experience, familiarity with Freshdesk and PowerSchool, and willingness to travel between East Harlem, Bronx, and Upper Manhattan.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1 year experience in a technology position overseeing helpdesk, hardware, and network issues.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Knowledge of Windows and Chromebooks hardware/OS.
• Willingness to travel to all school locations.
• Pre-employment fingerprinting and reference check clearance.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle staff help desk requests via Freshdesk and provide hardware/software support.
• Support operations by assisting with technology curriculum and classroom tech equipment.
• Maintain hardware inventory and troubleshoot classroom technology (Promethean boards, document cameras, VoIP phones).
• Prepare hardware for on-site tests and coordinate with third-party vendors for network repairs.
• Assist with data entry and administration in SIS and support data compliance checks.
