Job summary

Liberty County Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support teachers in replacing regular staff when absent and to assist in various tasks across multiple areas of the school. The role includes front office support, classroom organization, and direct student assistance.

The position requires at least a high school diploma or GED, and may require two years of college coursework, an associate degree or higher, or passing the paraprofessional exam.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college coursework (60 semester hours or 100 quarter hours) with a grade of C or better.
• Associate degree or higher required/preferred.
• Paraprofessional exam passed.

Responsibilities

• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Work as a substitute teacher as directed by the principal, assistant principal or front office secretary.
• Assist in front office, copy room, counselors' office, media center, classroom, or other areas when not substituting.
• Communicate effectively with teachers and staff.
• Assist teachers with in-person instruction, classroom organization, management and instructional strategies as needed.
• Assist during standardized testing to support state/local processes and policies.
• Monitor students' movement throughout the building.
• Supervise pupils before, during, and after school as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and documents.
• Engage in professional learning opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and Superintendent of Schools.
