Job summary

Liberty County Schools in Georgia seeks a paraprofessional to support teachers and students in an in-person classroom setting. You will assist with instruction, grading, materials, and classroom organization, while maintaining confidentiality of student records.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, GaPSC-accepted associate degree or 60 college hours with a C or better, and passing the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Associate's degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution; or two years of college coursework (60 semester hours) above the remedial level with a grade of C or better.
• Passed the GaPSC GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Prompt and regular attendance.
• In-person classroom instruction.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and documentation.
• Assist teachers with clerical duties, grading, preparing materials, typing and reproducing documents.
• Assist with bulletin boards.
• Assist students with health care procedures including hygiene and daily care.
• Assist students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, repositioning and mobility as needed.
• Work with individual pupils and/or small groups to reinforce skills taught by the teacher.
• Supervise groups or individuals when needed.
• Accompany groups on field trips under supervision of the teacher.
• Assist teachers and the school program with other tasks as assigned.
• Supervise pupils before, during and after school.
• Attend professional learning and staff development activities.
• Perform other assignments as assigned by supervisor and Superintendent of Schools.
