The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with additional college credits or an associate degree preferred, and successful completion of the GaPSC requirements or GACE Paraprofessional

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or 60 college hours with GaPSC-accepted institution OR two years of college coursework (60 hours) with grade C or better OR Paraprofessional assessment (GACE).
• Aptitude for work to be performed.

Responsibilities

• Prompt and regular attendance.
• In person classroom instruction.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and documentation.
• Assist teachers with clerical duties, grading papers, preparing materials, typing and reproducing documents.
• Assist teacher with bulletin boards.
• Assist students with health care procedures including hygiene and daily care.
• Assist students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, repositioning, mobility as needed.
• Work with individual pupils and/or small groups to reinforce skills.
• Supervise groups or individuals when required for teacher meetings or other designated times.
• accompanies groups on field trips under teacher supervision for educational purposes.
• Assist in supervising pupils before, during, and after school.
• Attend professional learning and staff development activities as needed.
• Perform other assignments as directed by supervisor and Superintendent.
