Job summary

Académie Lafayette is seeking a School Social Worker to support students’ academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health needs. The role collaborates with families, staff, and community partners to remove barriers to learning and promote equitable access to opportunities.

The position is full-time and reports to the campus principal, with responsibilities across MTSS, PBIS, and family/community engagement to strengthen student outcomes and safety within the school climate.

Qualifications

• Licensed School Counselor/Social Worker 6-12.
• Missouri state licensure/certification.
• Excellent communication skills.
• 3 years experience in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement intervention strategies to improve student academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional success.
• Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, de-escalation, and mediation for students.
• Provide short-term individual and small-group counseling and monitor student progress.
• Conduct student check-ins and develop intervention plans for at-risk students.
• Assist students new to the school with social and emotional transition.
• Coordinate services for students receiving homebound instruction or alternative placements.
• Intervene to improve student attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism through family outreach.
