Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a School Social Worker to address barriers to academic success across home, school, and community. You will provide counseling, case management, crisis intervention, and connections to community resources to support students and families.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or a higher degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Experience: Three years of social work or youth-focused experience.
• Licenses/Certificates: Nevada license with school social worker endorsement or equivalent; promise to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect.
• Liaises between school/district, families, community agencies, protective services, courts, and health providers to support student success.
• Advises administrators and staff on issues impacting student achievement.
• Provides individualized direct services, counseling, and crisis intervention.
• Maintains records in accordance with policies and state/federal laws.
