Job summary

Vassalboro Community School seeks a dedicated School Social Worker to foster a safe and inclusive environment. You will support students with behavioral and life skills, coordinate with families and staff, and assist in developing student support plans and IEP goals.

This role requires strong communication, trauma-informed practice knowledge, and the ability to manage documentation in accordance with district and state requirements. Salary follows the teacher contract.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Experience delivering evidence-based social-emotional and behavioral interventions.
• Knowledge of child/adolescent development and trauma-informed practices.
• Willingness to learn Maine Care billing and Ed-Tech supervision as required.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe, welcoming, inclusive school environment through preventative practices in Behavioral and Life Skills programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation meeting district, state and federal requirements.
• Support initiatives that promote positive student behavior.
• Develop and implement student support plans and IEP goals.
• Provide crisis intervention and support when needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, families and community providers.
