Job summary

Vassalboro Community School seeks a dedicated School Social Worker to foster a safe and inclusive environment. You will support students with behavioral and life skills, coordinate with families and staff, and assist in developing student support plans and IEP goals.

This role requires strong communication, trauma-informed practice knowledge, and the ability to manage documentation in accordance with district and state requirements. Salary follows the teacher contract.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Experience delivering evidence-based social-emotional and behavioral interventions.
• Knowledge of child/adolescent development and trauma-informed practices.
• Willingness to learn Maine Care billing and Ed-Tech supervision as required.

The Successful Candidate Will

• Assist in fostering a safe, welcoming and inclusive school environment through proactive, preventative practices in our Behavioral and Life Skills programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and meet district, state and federal requirements.
• Support initiatives that promote positive student behavior.
• Assist in the development and implementation of student support plans and IEP goals.
• Provide crisis intervention and support when called upon.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, families and community providers.

Required Qualifications

• Strong communication, collaboration and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and school personnel
• Experience providing evidence-based social emotional and behavioral interventions
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed practices and positive behavioral interventions
• Understand/be willing to learn Maine Care billing and provide Ed-Tech supervision (coaching) as required by Maine Care.

Salary based on teacher contract.
