Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or a closely related field.
• Active driver's license and a valid School Social Worker license from MDE.
• Ability to use computer applications and district systems.
• Knowledge of district policies, social work ethics, laws and regulations.
• Experience with IEP teams and due process paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Serve as administrative designee on IEP team and facilitate meetings.
• Provide direct social/emotional services to students.
• Communicate with parents and community partners.
• Collaborate with community mental health providers.
• Coordinate 504 accommodations and plan.
• Intervene in student alcohol/drug issues.
• Prepare Child Protective Services referrals.
• Support attendance interventions.
• Deliver classroom lessons on grief and loss and provide psychoeducation.
• Promote the District mission and professional conduct.
