Job summary

Fairfield County School District is seeking a licensed School Social Worker to provide social casework and counseling to students and families under limited supervision. The role reports to the Principal and Executive Director of Operations and Student Services and collaborates with counselors, nurses, teachers, and administrators.

Responsibilities include identifying and addressing social, emotional, and environmental issues affecting student health and performance, participating in IEP

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or from a regionally accredited institution.
• Experience as a professional Social Worker.
• Licensed by the S.C. Board of Social Work Examiners.

Responsibilities

• Serves with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Identifies and provides assistance to ameliorate and resolve social, emotional, and environmental problems affecting students' health or school performance.
• Assesses, plans, intervenes and evaluates difficult psychological problems.
• Provides advanced social work services to students and families in an interdisciplinary clinical setting.
• Advocates for all students and participates in IEP meetings if necessary.
• Acts as liaison between the school and community agencies.
• Collaborates with school staff to solve student problems.
