Job summary

Providence Public Schools District is seeking a School Social Worker for a one-year position serving students ages 3-21 across multiple schools. Responsibilities include conducting social histories, coordinating with families and school teams, and supporting students’ social-emotional learning.

The role requires an MSW with LCSW/LCISW, RIDE PK-12 certification, and a commitment to data-driven interventions and collaboration with teachers, parents, and outside agencies.

Qualifications

• MSW in social work from an accredited college or university with a LCSW or LCISW.
• RIDE Certification: All Grades School Social Worker, Grades PK-12.
• ESL Certification Preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Pre-employment criminal history background check required.
• New hire compliance training prior to first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct social histories and adaptive behavior measures for students and families to complete assessments.
• Prepare social histories and adaptive scale reports per guidelines.
• Work with families to understand family dynamics to improve academic achievement.
• Identify at-risk students and design interventions with progress monitoring in RTI tiers 2/3.
