Job summary

Boston Renaissance Charter Public School is seeking a School Social Worker to provide critical social and emotional support to students, collaborate with families and district partners, and participate in IEP processes. Qualifications

• Meets the standards of highly qualified as outlined by federal mandate.
• Hold a Masters degree in related field;
• Certification in School Social Work.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an elementary school setting.

Responsibilities

• Implement school, district and department policies.
• Collaborate with the team on curriculum and students needs.
• Create and manage effective communication with parents, community based organizations, and universities.
• Share in preparation of individualized education plans, as it relates to mental health goals of students.
• Collaborates in the development of behavioral intervention plans.
• Provide home based assessments as indicated by need of student, school or district.
• Provide counseling, case management and crisis intervention as indicated by need of the student, teacher or district.
• Maintain professional competencies in areas of responsibilities.
• Maintain a student database.
• Participate in student based grade level, administrative, and discipline meetings.
• Responsible for investigating and filling 51A reports.
