Requirements:
- Professional Educator's License (PEL) required.
- Bilingual – fluent English and Spanish.
- Position is 4 days/week in one building and one day/week in another Elementary building.
- Manageable caseload/workload with mentorship from a Spanish Bilingual SLP.
Qualifications
Must hold an appropriate Degree in Communications Sciences Disorders or Speech‑Language Pathology.
Active IL SLPA License.
Role Overview
As an SLPA, you will assist speech-language pathologists in the assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in a school setting. You will implement speech and language programs or activities as directed, work with classroom teachers to implement activities, and create an environment conducive to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct speech, language, and hearing screening as directed by the supervising licensed speech-language pathologist.
- Implement the treatment program or the individual education plan (IEP) as designed by the supervising licensed speech-language pathologist.
- Work with classroom teachers to implement classroom activities to improve communication skills of students.
- Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for maturity level and interests of students.
