Job summary

Allied Universal in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Security Officer for a Full Time Boundary Inspection Patrol. You will serve and safeguard a public school environment, performing routine patrols, monitoring entrances, and delivering professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

The role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and integrity, with a daytime schedule and opportunities to grow within a national security services organization.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members while following security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the educational location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, parking areas, grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and access points, verify visitor authorization when required, and report unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting school personnel, emergency responders, and/or Allied Universal leadership as appropriate.
• Document patrol activity, observations, and incidents through accurate written and/or electronic reports.
