Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools seeks a Security Assistant to help protect students, staff and property. The role involves patrolling, monitoring CCTV, screening visitors and coordinating with administrators during incidents.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveillance of school buildings, grounds and activities.
• Patrol hallways, stairwells, restrooms and parking areas; secure doors and entrances.
• Greet, screen and sign-in visitors; monitor CCTV and security systems.
• Deter unauthorized entry and escort individuals off campus when needed.
• Provide security for after-school, evening and weekend activities on a flexible schedule.
• Assist with fire drills, evacuations and routine safety checks.
