Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: some experience in security or law enforcement.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be at least 21 to be eligible for Virginia School Security Officer Certification.
• Must complete mandatory training: VSSOC, MANDT, AMET, AED/CPR, Basic First-Aid.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time and monitor the school, grounds, and parking areas.
• Greet students, staff, and guests; screen and sign-in visitors as required.
• Deter unauthorized access and report disturbances to administration.
• Assist with drills, evacuations, and with evening registrars or Saturday staff.
• Maintain security systems and prepare accurate reports as needed.
• Attend security training and be part of the Crisis Response Team.
• Support administration and inform about equipment or procedure needs.
