The Lexington County Sheriff's Office is seeking a School Resource Officer to provide comprehensive law enforcement support at (and around) school campuses. You will enforce laws, respond to incidents, mentor students, and coordinate with school staff to maintain a safe learning environment.

You will also conduct investigations of school-related incidents, deliver instruction and resources, and help design emergency response plans with local officials.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of law enforcement experience.
• Valid South Carolina Driver’s License and certification requirements.
• SC Class I Law Enforcement Certification and School Resource Officer Certification.
• Legal eligibility: United States citizen and SC resident, or willing to move.

Responsabilités

• Provide comprehensive law enforcement services at school activities and campuses.
• Enforce Federal, State, and local laws to ensure safety and order.
• Respond to incidents and investigate school-related activities.
• Mentor students and staff, promoting a safe learning environment.
• Coordinate with school officials to implement emergency response plans.
• Schedule security for extracurricular events on and off campus.
• Overtime may be required, including detention center duties.
