Job summary

The School District of Philadelphia is seeking a School Safety Supervisor to lead School Safety Officers within our Office of School Safety. This 10-month and 12-month CASA represented role guides restorative practices, monitors deployments, and coordinates security efforts across district facilities.

The Supervisor reports to an Administrative Superior, works with school leaders and law enforcement, and uses data to drive improvements in safety, retention and student well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of full-time paid experience in public safety with restorative justice training.
• Two years as School Safety Officer (PSD) OR one year as SSO with three years public safety experience.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate School Safety Officers and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the SSO deployment and restorative practices.
• Plans and directs SSO work schedules and shifts.
• Conducts daily attendance documentation for SSO personnel.
• Investigates incidents and de-escalates student misconduct.
• Interacts with administrators, community partners, and law enforcement to improve safety.
