Job summary

Thornton Fractional High School District 215 is seeking a School Security role to supervise students and visitors, enforce safety measures, and operate weapons detection systems during school days and events. The position emphasizes discretion, professional conduct, and clear communication with staff and students.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (required).
• PERC registration card (valid or obtainable during probation).
• CPR certification (valid or obtainable during probation).
• AED certification (valid or obtainable during probation).
• CPI Intervention training twice every two years (required).
• Restorative Practices training twice every two years (required).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate weapons detection system for students and visitors.
• Greet and run security stations at entrances and events.
• Supervise students in hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, buses.
• Conduct hallway sweeps and monitor tardy students.
• Conduct student and locker searches with dean/police liaison when needed.
