Town of Davie seeks a School Resource Officer to perform a wide range of law enforcement activities within the school environment. You will mentor students, disseminate information and assist through referrals, while protecting property and preventing crime during the school day.

The position requires Florida Peace Officer Certification, a valid driver’s license, and a minimum two years of police experience.

Qualifikationen

• Graduation from an accredited high school supplemented by course work at a police training school or academy.
• Must possess a current State of Florida Law Enforcement Officer Certification in good standing.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years of Police Officer experience.
• Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver's License and a good driving record.

Aufgaben

• Perform a wide variety of law enforcement activities related to the school environment during the school year.
• Mentor students, disseminate information, arbitrate disputes, and provide referrals and public safety services.
• Work under general supervision and exercise independent judgment and discretion; respond to normal and emergency conditions and possible personal danger.
• Investigate, enforce laws, manage traffic, and perform duties with attention to department policies and Florida statutes.
