Job summary

The Town of Davie, FL is seeking a School Resource Officer to perform a wide range of law enforcement activities focused on the school environment. Duties include mentoring students, disseminating information, arbitrating disputes, and providing referrals within the school setting.

Incumbents work under the supervision of a sergeant, with duties spanning from routine to emergency conditions. Requires Florida LEO certification and at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school with police training or academy coursework.
• Must hold a current State of Florida Law Enforcement Officer Certification in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of Police Officer experience.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to school-based law enforcement and public safety.
• Mentor and work with students, disseminate information, arbitrate disputes, and provide referrals.
• Under supervision, work with compliance to Florida Statutes and departmental policies.
