Job summary

Fortis Group is seeking a part-time School Safety Officer to support Macomb County schools. The role emphasizes security, safety policies, and collaboration with local law enforcement, principals, and staff.

Responsibilities include patrolling grounds, monitoring entrances, coordinating drills, and maintaining incident logs. Candidates should have a High School diploma, CPL, and at least 5 years in security or law enforcement, with crisis management skills and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
• State-certified active or former law enforcement officer with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) and excellent marksmanship skills.
• Strong understanding of crisis management and conflict resolution techniques.
• Ability to pass a thorough background check.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies; report to authorities and management.
• Assist with security requests of the principal and faculty.
• Patrol school grounds and interior building at regular intervals.
• Monitor arrivals, dismissal, and visitor access; enforce protocols.
• Coordinate safety drills and liaise with law enforcement as needed.
