Job summary

Avondale High School in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a dedicated School Safety Specialist (1.0 FTE) to monitor student activity and maintain a safe learning environment. You will supervise building areas, support staff, and implement safety protocols.

The position requires a High School Diploma (Associates degree preferred) and strong communication and interpersonal skills. CPI certification or enrollment is encouraged, with opportunities for after-school support and ongoing professional

Qualifications

High School Diploma required.
Associates degree preferred.
Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect.
Ability to speak clearly and concisely in both oral and written communication.
Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with administrators, student services personnel and teachers.
Possess CPI certification or enroll to gain certification provided by Avondale School District.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
Greet guests/visitors and assist with school business.
Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is essential.
Monitor the building to ensure students have passes when out of class.
Monitor student behavior throughout the building.
Maintain closed campus policy.
Other duties as assigned by the principal.
Opportunities may exist to serve during after school events.
