Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience working with emotionally/behaviorally disabled students in school, mental health, or hospital settings preferred.
• Knowledge of child development concepts and practices.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.
• CPI certification offered by the district.
• First Aid and CPR training certification offered by the district.

Responsibilities

• Work intensively with students unable to function in the classroom and address behavioral/emotional issues.
• Communicate reality-based problem solving to students.
• Complete and maintain CPI certification.
• Complete and maintain First Aid and CPR training certification.
• Assist in developing and administering programs for behaviorally/emotionally and/or academically challenged students.
• Assist teachers by engaging with disruptive or emotionally needy students.
• Prepare logs, reports, files, reviews, etc.
• Escort children to bus, time-out, nurse's office, and around campus.
• Facilitate decision-making and communication between students and teachers.
• Follow district policies and directives in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
