Job summary

Commerce City Police Department seeks POST certified officers for the Youth Services Unit to serve as School Resource Officers in Adams 14 and Brighton 27J school districts, covering 19 schools and ~14,000 students.

Selected candidates will join a department emphasizing community-based policing, mentoring youth, and collaborative teamwork, with a five-year assignment and potential extensions. Starting pay may reflect years of service, currently $115,798 annually.

Qualifications

• Colorado P.O.S.T certification is required to be considered.
• Minimum five (5) years full-time patrol experience and two (2) additional years as a School Resource Officer.

Responsibilities

• School Resource Officer duties within the Youth Services Unit.
• Support partnerships with Adams 14 and Brighton 27J school districts and multiple schools.
• Coordinate and participate in youth programs (Explorer, Police Camp) and safety drills.
