Job summary

University of Saint Joseph's Gengras Center in West Hartford, CT is seeking a School Psychologist to provide psycho-educational assessments and consultation to staff and families. You will develop assessment protocols, review records, and present findings to the Planning and Placement Team, collaborating with a transdisciplinary staff to support student needs.

Experience with cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral evaluation, and knowledge of applicable laws are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in school psychology or equivalent required.
• CT certification for school psychologist or eligible for it.
• Experience conducting cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral assessments.
• Knowledge of federal/state/local special education mandates and IDEA.

Responsibilities

• Develop an annual schedule for triennial evaluations and create assessment protocols.
• Administer, score, interpret tests; prepare written reports.
• Present findings at Planning and Placement Team meetings.
• Provide behavior management consultation and SEL resources for staff/parents.
• Collaborate with transdisciplinary Gengras team and participate in school committees.
• Provide parent/family education and professional development opportunities.
• Support crisis intervention and data collection through appropriate methods.
• Engage with University of Saint Joseph for consultation and guest lectures.
