Job summary

Wayne Township Public Schools in Wayne, New Jersey, seeks a School Psychologist to support the Child Study Team. Responsibilities include evaluations, planning, counseling and collaboration with staff to implement IEPs and related services.

The candidate will conduct cognitive, behavioral and social-emotional assessments, prepare thorough reports, and provide recommendations to improve student outcomes within NJ regulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• NJ Educational Services Certificate with School Psychologist endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychological evaluations to determine cognitive, behavioral, social-emotional and adaptive functioning.
• Analyzes and synthesizes evaluation data to determine cognitive functioning and emotional competency.
• Provides consultation to staff and parents on techniques for students with emotional or adjustment problems.
• Collaborates with staff to determine eligibility and appropriate programs/services.
• Completes IEPs for students eligible for special education and related services.
• Monitors student progress related to classroom performance and IEP goals.
• Serves as liaison to teachers, paraprofessionals and related service providers.
• Maintains confidential records and acts as case manager for classified students.
• Participates in Intervention and Referral Services Team and crisis management as needed.
• Provides school-based counseling to students as documented in IEPs.
